| Kiefer's 99Center Plus Store in downtown Moorhead is the only Kiefer's store that is not in it's own free-standing building. The 99Center Plus Moorhead store
is in the downtown "Center Mall" and today has
6,250 square feet. The Center Mall is actually condominium retail space, and Kiefer's store is owned by the Kiefer Retail Estate |

Group. Interestingly, the Moorhead Center
Mall was built after much of downtown Moorhead went under
the wrecking ball in the late 1960s. One of the historic
buildings razed to make way for the Center Mall during
that urban renewal craze of the period was the "Kiefer
Building" erected in 1883. The Kiefer Building was
built by Jacob Kiefer, Sr. who was the great-grandfather
of current Kiefer's store owner Kurt Kiefer.
The Moorhead store is packed full of variety store items
as well as gift items, a full party department, books,
and thousands of other unusual items - many of which are 99 cents or less! It is open 7 days a week for your shopping pleasure. |
